Summer Essentials: Facial Sun Protection

Posted by

I don’t know about you but I hate wearing sun cream on my face.  It always seems to leave it feeling greasy and looking very shiny!  For the past few years I’ve been buying sun creams specifically designed for your face so I thought I’d share with you this years selection….

Nurture Daily Face Protector, SPF 30

My sister and I used this on holiday in Kos and didn’t get sunburn so it must work!  You use it like you do a normal sun cream – apply 15 minutes before you go in the sun and then reapply every couple of hours when you are in the sun.  It sinks in well but I did find that it left my face looking shiny sometimes although that was usually when I squeezed a bit too much out of the tube and used it anyway!  It contains vitamin E, aloe vera and moisturising pro-vitamin B5 and costs £7.45 for 50ml which I would pay again.

Skin Doctors Supermoist SPF 30 Accelerator

I haven’t actually used this properly yet but it’s in my pile of stuff to take to Thailand.  Again you use this one like a normal sun cream but this one doesn’t smell quite as strongly as the Nurture one.  It’s also noticeably thicker which I personally prefer.  It sinks in even faster than the Nurture version but it is more expensive at £25.50 for 50ml (however it’s currently on offer at £19.13).  I’ll let you know when I’m home from Thailand if I think this is any better than the Nurture one!

Do you use specific facial sun creams?  Which ones would you recommend?
