Help, No Heating…..

Posted by

I’ve not done many hair posts in the past, mainly because I have curly hair which doesn’t really like to be styled.  On Friday night our boiler stopped working so we have no heating and no hot water which is horrible, especially seeing as this is pretty much the coldest weather we’ve had all winter (my hands are having trouble typing it’s so cold!)!  This means we have no shower and as quite difficult to wash and condition my hair in a basin, I’ve had to try and do something with it to stop it looking as though I’ve just woken up.  Most hair related posts I read on other blogs are done by people with straight-ish hair so I thought maybe this might help some of my curly haired readers (if there are any!).  Anyway, I was surprised but my hair actually ended up looking all right and not as frizzy as expected –I can’t remember the last time I didn’t condition my hair in the morning!

All I did was comb it through a few times to try and get the curls to drop out a bit. – with an afro comb (upside down and then the right way up) to minimise frizz.  Then I rubbed some Trevor Sorbie Beautifully Moisturised Moulding Mud into the ends to try and get rid of the majority of the frizz.  I also ran some Avon Almond Oil & Avocado Conditioning Mist Spray through the bottom half of my hair to get rid of flyaways and make my hair look a bit healthier.  Avon seem to have discontinued the conditioning spray (it’s really annoying, they always seem to stop selling things just after I’ve discovered them.  I think this is similar though.)

I realise that it doesn’t look perfect but there’s only so much I can do with my hair – I could probably get away with saying I was going for tousled beach hair?!  I really hope the plumber can fix the boiler tomorrow!
