There are a lot of beauty boxes out there and the latest one to join the crowd is Dollibox whose first box was sent out on October 12th. Each month, subscribers will receive up to 5 hair and beauty samples, some of them full sized. As well as the products, the boxes also contain cards featuring tips on using the different samples and you can buy all of the products through the website if you like them. The October box contained a good variety of products:
- EyeCANDY eyelashes
- Feeling Beautiful Face Masks
- Little Ondine Nail Polish
- OSMO Wonder 10
- Oil Arganic
Out of the contents of the box, the only item which I personally won’t use is the eyelashes but I have loved trying out everything else! Face masks are always fun to use and these didn’t disappoint. The water based nail polish I received is a beautiful dark grey colour with flecks of purple and blue shimmer. It is the first water based nail polish I have ever used and I definitely could tell the difference. It seemed to be completely chip resistant and I didn’t get a chip for two whole days which is very unusual for me! After a few days, the polish started peeling off my nails a full nail at a time. I’ve since read the instructions which came with the polish and it turns out you are supposed to remove oil from your nails before applying the polish. I used cuticle oil right before which meant that the polish didn’t stick to my nails correctly. When you want to remove the polish, you are supposed to be able to peel it off with no need for remover. So it partly worked – the only reason it came off so early was because I didn’t bother with the instructions first!
The OSMO Wonder 10 is fantastic. I’ve used it as a leave-in treatment overnight on my hair and also run a tiny bit through my hair before I style it as usual to add a bit of moisture. I love it! The Oil Arganic is a winner too. It works well on my hair and also as a body moisturiser. I’ve even used a drop on my face a couple of times instead of a night cream. It has a gorgeous orange smell and is definitely a product I would buy again.
Dollibox costs £10 per month plus postage but if you sign up for a 6 month or 12 month plan then you get a bit of a discount. It’s pretty comparable to other beauty boxes out there in terms of price per month and the total value of products. It’s always exciting to have a box full of new goodies and I like that you can just buy one-off boxes for a bit of a treat or if you can’t justify spending the money every single month.
