I’m usually rubbish at keeping umbrellas from breaking. They normally last a few weeks before something snaps and I spend the next few months walking round with half an umbrella until I remember to buy a new one.
This Cath Kidston umbrella is surprisingly strong and I’m really impressed. I’ve used it on some really windy days and it hasn’t come close to breaking or flown inside out once! The umbrella folds up really small and is very light so is easy to carry round all day. I also love the pattern!
You can buy the umbrella from Fulton for £20.
(Here’s a photo of the double rainbow which appeared when I was using the umbrella last week! The bottom rainbow was much clearer in real life – I could see every single colour!)
The Baseballs are amazing! They are a band from Germany who cover recent songs but in a rock ‘n’ roll style. Their album ‘Strike’ has 12 fantastic songs which just make you want to dance and sing along. I think a lot of their covers are better than the originals. My favourites on the album would have to be the covers of Rhianna’s ‘Umbrella’ and ‘Hot ‘n’ Cold’ by Katy Perry.
The style of the songs is really different from anything else in the charts at the moment and everyone I’ve played the album for absolutely loves it. (Even my Dad who rarely likes any modern music!) The Baseballs are already a big hit in Europe and their album has reached #1 in some countries. They have recently announced that they will be supporting Jeff Beck on his UK tour this autumn. If they were playing on their own, I would definitely be buying a ticket but as I’ve never actually heard of Jeff Beck maybe I should save my money for next time! (Having written that comment, I’ve just googled Jeff Beck but am still none the wiser except that he seems to have played guitar for loads of artists in the last 40 years!)
