NOTW: Pink & Patterned

This is a design I did a few weeks ago. I used Models Own Blush Pink topped with Indian Ocean for a bit of shine, and then stamped my pattern on top. It was nice and quick to do and I loved the result!NOTW: Pink & Patterned NOTW: Pink & Patterned

Holiday Essentials

Holiday essentialsSun cream – This year I’m trying the Piz Buin sun cream which can be applied to wet skin so will be good for using after a swim.  I’ve also got the Oriflame Sun Zone Lotion for Face and Body which I plan to use on my face as it’s not quite as oily as the Piz Buin!

Insect repellent – I usually get horribly bitten on holiday (unless I am with my blonde sister – all the bugs love her!) so always smother myself with insect repellent.  I used Ultrathon last year when I was in Kos and barely got any bites so have decided to use the same brand this year.  I hope it works as well!

Deodorant – Everyone needs a good deodorant, especially when it’s hot and sunny.  I am taking the Sure Maximum Protection with me which is twice as strong as most deodorants and doesn’t smell too strong.

UV protection for hair – My hair does not like hot weather!  The sun dries it out completely and makes it even more frizzy than usual.  I am really excited to use the Tints of Nature’s Seal and Shine Leave-In Conditioner which smells amazing and as well as being a conditioner also has UV and chlorine protection.

Foot file – To keep my feet looking smooth I am taking an S-Ped foot file.  It’s a much better shape than other foot files so is easier to use.

Nail varnish – As you know I am addicted to nail polish.  I tend to use a pale colour on holiday so that it’s not too obvious when it chips.  This year I’m taking Models Own Indian Ocean which I got from Littlewoods.  It’s a gorgeous colour and perfect for summer!

Shower gel – I love the new range of Radox shower gels!  Coconut Kiss is my favourite scent but Berry Burst and Cherry Blast are lovely too.

NOTW: Ocean Shimmer

This week I decided to try Models Own Indian Ocean over my Maybelline Forever Strong.  I only used one coat of Indian Ocean and I love the result – I think it’s the perfect combination.  It’s really pretty the way the pink shimmer is picked up in different lights.

NOTW: Skittles

This week has been super busy what with moving to Aberdeen and trying to get the flat sorted!  Here is a really quick NOTW for you and I promise I will get around to writing some more posts this weekend!

I wanted to try out the Models Own Indian Ocean over a few different colour but even after wearing them for five days or so, I can’t choose my favourite!  The blue colour really shows up the pink shimmer well but I actually loved Indian Ocean over the pinks as well.

The colours I used were:

No7 Stay Perfect Stand Back

elf Purple Dream

Miners Plum

a pale pink Nails Inc with no name – I think I got it from free with a magazine!

Which combination is your favourite?

NOTW: Indian Ocean Layered

I thought I’d try Indian Ocean layered over my Nubar Vogue Vert but I’m not really sure I like the combination.  I don’t think the green colour really showed off the blue shimmer from Indian Ocean properly.  What do you think?

NOTW: Indian Ocean

I’ve been wanting to buy this Models Own Indian Ocean polish for weeks now and it was definitely worth the wait!  It’s a beautiful shimmery colour, almost impossible to describe, with flecks of mainly blue and pink but also an occasional glimpse of green, orange and gold.  After reading other reviews, I thought that I would only be able to use it on top of other colours due to it being so sheer but I actually found that two thick coats was enough to get coverage on its own (in some lights I could see the tips of my nails but that doesn’t really bother me too much).  That’s what I’m wearing in these photos.  It is a hard colour to capture with a camera but hopefully you can get the general idea from these photos!

In other news, I might not be able to post much next week as yesterday we booked a last minute holiday to Kos leaving on Saturday!  I’m super excited!  We’re staying at the Aegean Village which looks really lovely…. just look at the colour of the sea!
