I’ve been a busy bee this week – my dissertation is due on Tuesday! Of course, I still made time to do my nails….. Nail Inc Victoria and Albert topped with gold glitter. Do you like it?
NOTW: Crackle
Last week I bought two crackle polishes from 17 as part of the three for two offer in Boots. I don’t own any other crackle polishes so this is the first time I’ve ever used it and I managed to make a bit of a mess. The one I’m wearing this week (over Miners Plum) doesn’t have a name but is a black crackle with gold glitter. I’m not sure if all crackle polishes are the same but this one seems quite thick and gloopy and I don’t think I ended up applying the right amount to get good crackles! On some nails it didn’t seem to crackle very well at all! I love the shine this polish has in the light from the glitter but my nails don’t look great up close – I think I’ll get better at applying crackle polish with practice though! I took these photos on the second day of wearing the polish and there was already some tip wear which was a little disappointing.
What do you think of the colour? Is there a special way to use crackle polish that I’m missing?!
NOTW: Purple Dream
This will be the last glittery Nails of the Week for a while, I promise! Here I have used Purple Dream from elf and topped it with some silver and blue glitter.
NOTW: Christmas Glitter
I’m pretty sure I’ve already done a Nails of the Week post this week but never mind – it’s Christmas! I used a Rimmel 60 Seconds nail polish for the base (819 Green With Envy) which normally looks turquoise but adding the gold glitter has made it look much more green. It looks different colours in different lights so here are a few photos for you……
I’m not going to have time to post now until after Christmas so I hope you all have a lovely few Christmassy days!
Glittery Nails
I’ve been a bit obsessed with my nail glitter recently! Here I’ve used my Body Collection Crystal Suede in Midnight Blue and topped it off with silver and purple glitter. Do you like it?
Christmas Tree Nails…..
….. well sort of! For my nails here I used a No 7 Stay Perfect Nail Varnish called Dollar which is a shimmery green colour. I then sprinkled on some gold glitter on from my pot of nail glitter I had for Christmas from my sister a few years ago.
I’m really happy with how they turned out and they feel so Christmassy! I’m off to Bath Christmas Market today to meet my mum and sister for a bit of Christmas shopping – can’t wait!
e.l.f Nail Polish – Dark Purple Glitter
This e.l.f nail polish is such amazing value at just £1.50! It is really easy to apply and the photo below shows two coats along with the top and base coats. I put the nail varnish on on Wednesday morning and by today (Saturday), only one nail had chipped which I don’t think has ever happened for me with any other nail varnish I’ve used. Usually they start to chip by the second day. The chip is tiny as well so I’m hoping I won’t need to remove it for another few days yet.
I really like the colour but I’ve got to admit that I was slightly disappointed when it came out of the bottle. It looks as though it will come out really glittery but, as you can see in the photo, the glitter barely shows up on my nails. I did give the bottle a good shake before I opened it, and again after doing the first nail, but I think the glitter is just not very sparkly! The colour is still lovely, just not what I was expecting.
Cupcakes….Again!
This was my first attempt at making purple icing by mixing pink and blue food colouring – it didn’t really work but they still tasted good!
I’ve still not really mastered the mini cupcakes but I think that’s because I don’t have a mould to cook them in so they just spread out wherever the want to!
I love the cute Wafer Daisys by Dr Oetker and am still obsessed with my glitter which I got from Splat Cooking!
