Mother’s Day Gift Guide

In case you didn’t know, Mother’s Day is on the 18th of March this year!  I’ve put together a few ideas for you……

1. Paperblanks sell a range of gorgeous notebooks which are way prettier than your average Staples notepad!  This flowery design costs £10.99 and, I think, would make a wonderful gift.

2. I’ve stumbled across some really lovely National Trust beauty products.  The packaging is smart and the scents are unique – I love Countryside: Cowslip & Meadowsweet and Coast: Rock, Samphire and Driftwood which have nice fresh, not overpowering smells and remind me of summer!  I’m very surprised at how good the products I’ve tried are and I think they’d make a great Mother’s Day gift.

Coast Hand & Body Wash, £7.50

Countryside Hand & Body Lotion, 9.50

3. Blue Nun sparkling wine with pieces of 22-caret gold leaf!  At £9.59 a bottle I think this would make a really fun gift!

4. St Ives products are always brilliant and this Apricot Invigorating Scrub is no different! £5.10

5. Aromatherapy Associates have lots of luxurious products.  I’m in love with this mini set of bath oils, but be warned, it’s not cheap at £28.50.  (Worth it though!)

6. Love Hearts, £1.39 – A quirky little gift!

7. You’ll always be able to find something in Thorntons!  TheseI Love Mum Cups, £2.50 are cute and I love the idea of getting a bouquet of flowers at the same time as a box of chocolates!

Valentine’s Gifts

Here are a couple more ideas in the run up to Valentine’s Day….

MITCH is a new range for men from Paul Mitchell.  There are quite a few options from gels and glues to pastes and creams.  I was sent a sample of each product which Nick has been trying out – he was really surprised at how many different products were in the range but seems to like all of them so far!

Sranrom are a luxury home spa range from Thailand.  I’ve tried out their hand cream and it is gorgeous so definitely a brand to subtly hint for (or just buy for yourself!).  I really want to try one of their candles….if you’re reading Nick……!  A word of warning though – I found their website quite hard to find my way around as the tabs across the top have hand wavy spa type descriptions rather than helpful ones!

Anyone got anything planned for Valentine’s Day this year?

TreatHer or TreatHim

Here are two websites with lots of Christmas ideas!

TreatHer, as you would probably expect from the name, has gifts for women and TreatHim has gifts for men.  There are so many different sorts of gift it’s hard to know where to start!  You can get chocolates, jewellery, experiences, beauty products, Christmas hampers and more.  There is also a massive range of prices from £5 going all the way up to nearly £700.  You might think that with so much stuff for sale it would be hard to find anything but the websites are actually really well laid out and you are able to search by occasion, recipient and price to name a few.  This helps you quickly narrow down your search.  Both websites follow the same format so once you’ve found your way around one you’ll be able to use the other in exactly the same way.

1. Cinderella Chocolate Stiletto, £9.99

2. True Love Heart Necklace, £37.99

3. Scottie Dog Hot Water Bottle Cover, £12.99

4. Vera Wang Love and Devotion Hamper, £239.99!

5. Mensa Pack – Genius Test, £11.99

6. Born to Gold, Forced to Work Coaster, £7.95

7. Union Jack Frying Pan, £9.99

I actually think that you could probably get something for almost everyone you know just from these two sites so it’s well worth a look.  There is also free delivery at the moment on orders over £40.

Christmas Food & Drink

Here’s a list of some Christmas gifts and some tasty Christmas treats!

Green & Blacks Tasting Collection contains a mixture of 12 different flavours which come with little tasting cards.  The cards have facts and recipe suggests for you to try.  The collection of 395g costs £10.99.

Mrs Crimble’s Large Cranberry Macaroons taste delicious and cost just £1.49.

Fox’s have a few different biscuit selection boxes – The Chocolate Edition, The Brandy Snaps Collection and Fox’s Wonders to name a few.  The selection boxes cost between around £2 and £12.

Nudo have a range of Italian gift sets which are great for foodies.  There are lots of different flavoured olive oils, panettone and you can even adopt an olive tree!

Chambord is a raspberry liqueur in a gorgeous bottle!  You can get recipes for cocktails from the website as well.  My favourite is the Chambord Royale:

Glass: Champagne Flute

Ingredients: 10ml Chambord, Cava or Prosecco, Raspberry for garnish

Method: Pour a splash (10ml) of Chambord into a champagne flute, top with your favourite fizz and add a succulent raspberry for decoration.

Captain Morgan’s Spiced is a rum which works well in a hot spiced Christmas punch!

Bonusprint Gifts

A few weeks ago I ordered some Christmas presents from Bonusprint and I’m really pleased with how good they look.

The first thing I got was a calendar for my Nan with photos of her lovely grandchildren! The calendar was so easy to make once I’d chosen the photos and there were a good choice of backgrounds. I love how colourful the calendar is and all of the photos have show up really well. The calendar I chose is A4 size and cost £11.99 plus postage. I preferred using Bonusprint to Albelli which I reviewed here as I didn’t have to download anything and there weren’t quite so many options making it much easier.

I also ordered an acrylic print which I’m so, so, so impressed with! It has turned out tons better than I thought it would! I haven’t got a photo of it here for you as the person it’s for has been known to read my blog!  All you have to do is upload your photo and choose a size so it’s really simple to do. There are 8 sizes available – I ordered the 41x30cm which cost £74.99. They aren’t cheap but the finish is brilliant. The colours are really strong and vibrant and on the photo I’ve chosen there seems to be some sort of effect making it look 3D from some angles! The print didn’t take long at all to be delivered and it was really well packaged so there wasn’t a chance of it being broken in the post.

If you’re stuck for ideas, Bonusprint is without doubt worth having a look at as there are loads of lovely photo gifts at a huge range of prices and the service is really good too.

Mama Jewels

Mama Jewels make a range of baby proof jewellery.  There are lots of different designs to choose from and they all look just like regular necklaces and bracelets so aren’t only for mums!

The range is dishwasher proof so can be kept clean for when baby tries to chew them and are really stong so they don’t break when pulled.  They come in nicely presented boxes making them good Mother’s Day presents……

Thorntons

Thorntons have loads of delicious looking and tasting Valentine’s Day gifts.  The prices range from 69p for a Valentine’s chocolate lolly to £75 for a hamper containing practically every single chocolate product Thorntons sell!

I like the cute ‘I Love You’ truffles……

…… and this box of heart shaped chocolates is under £5.

Thorntons even have an option to personalise your box of chocolates with photos and your choice of chocolate.  You can also get a box of ‘Alphabet Truffles’ where you can choose what you’d like your box of chocolates to say.  I think these are brill ideas as whoever you are buying them for will know you’ve spent a bit of time choosing exactly the right gift for them, not just picked any old box of chocolates up of the shelf!

TreatHer

TreatHer is a website dedicated to gifts for women.  This cute little Money Box is just one of the hundreds of ideas on the website.  The gifts range from just a few pounds to over a grand, so there should be something to suit every budget.  If you’re feeling flash then you can pay £1000 for a personal shopping day with £950 to spend on clothes, or £695 for a diamond heart necklace.  The more affordable options include mugs, photo frames, candles and chocolates to name a few.

TreatHim is a similar website but this time selling gifts for men.  Again, it has hundreds of products within a big range of prices.  Both of the websites enable you to search for different occasions, price ranges etc which is handy as otherwise you’d have to spend literally hours trawling through the masses of presents!

Sable & Co

Sable & Co is a website full of gift ideas for men.  I love these loo signs to go on your door – I’ve never seen anything like them before and they are a bit of fun!  I also really like this wine rack as it’s quite different from your generic wine rack.  Although lots of the items are a bit pricey, they are all unique so would make great gifts for men who are hard to buy for or for men who have everything!

Think Pink

Think Pink is a website which sells girly items for people who love pink.  They sell lots of different products from stationary to home accessories to dressing up costumes.  This website is a great place to find pretty gifts for girls of all ages and if you spend over £30 then you get free delivery within the UK.

I love my new Union Jack Apron which I now wear every time I make my cupcakes.  It is so much easier to make icing when you are not worrying about getting icing sugar all over your clothes!

I’ve also got some bright and fluffy new pink fairy lights.  The website has all sorts of fairy lights including fluffy ones, flowery ones and heart shaped ones.

Lots of the stuff on the website is for younger girls but there is also plenty for older ones as well.  The home accessories section has lots of colourful versions of boring kitchen items such as patterned oven gloves and flowery bread baskets.  I really like the Union Jack Weekend Holdall in the travel section and the hot water bottle covers are cute.

The website also has a small section for boys called blue2 which sells stuff aimed at young boys.

I think this is a fabulous website and will definitely be back to look for birthday and Christmas presents for my friends and family.
