Gamila Secret Beauty Bars

Gamila Secret Beauty Bars are a range of 100% natural soaps made in Galilee, Israel. They are made from cold pressed olive oil and a selection of herbs by Gamila, who was taught to read nature with her hands and senses by her blind father. There are a range of 10 different soaps which are suitable for different skin types.Gamila Secret Beauty Bar Gamila Secret Beauty Bar Gamila Secret Beauty Bar Gamila Secret Beauty BarGamila Secret Beauty BarI have the Soothing Geranium version which is for combination skin. The second I opened the box I fell in love with the bar – the smell is just gorgeous! Having the bar open in my shower makes the whole room smell lovely! The soap itself is also really good – I’ve used it on my face as a cleanser, as a body wash and as a shaving cream. At £21 per bar I don’t think it’s the sort of soap I would buy often, but I think it would make a great gift for someone or a nice treat for yourself! You can buy the bars from selected House of Fraser stores on their website.

A’kin Rose & Geranium Cleanser

This month I’ve been using the A’kin Rose & Geranium Cleanser & Toner In One from MyPure.

As you know, I have absolutely loved all of the A’kin products I’ve tried in the past and this one is no different.  The cleanser smells amazing and is nice and gentle on my skin.  As well as being a toner, another bonus is that it removes eye makeup.  It has quite a thick consistency but you don’t need to use a huge amount for your whole face.

As with all of the products sold by MyPure, there are no sulphates, parabens or other nasty chemicals so is perfect for sensitive skin.

Simple Vital Vitamin Foaming Cleanser

I love the way this Simple Vital Vitamin Cleanser foams so much!  I find that if I use it every day it tends to dry my skin out but I’ve been using it two or three times a week which seems to be perfect for my skin.  The cleanser contains the following vitamins and nutrients:

  • pro-vitamin B5 which ‘actively restores, softens and smoothes
  • vitamin E which ‘moisturises to improve skin condition
  • glycerine which ‘hydrates and nourishes
  • chamomile which also ‘softens and smoothes
  • geranium which ‘conditions and regenerates‘.

There are no perfumes or colourings but it’s not completely natural and I think that’s why it’s cheaper than lots of the 100% natural cleansers around.  At about £4.50 I think I would buy this again.

A’kin Lavender & Geranium Body Moist

I LOVE THIS A’KIN MOISTURISER! In fact, I’ve loved every A’kin product I’ve ever tried!  The A’kin Lavender & Geranium Body Moist smells really good and quite different to other moisturisers.  It is pretty thick and a little goes a long way so the bottle should last for quite a long time.  It also works very well and leaves my skin perfectly moisturised and not at all greasy.  After using it for a few days running I’ve really noticed that my skin is getting much softer.  It is a lot better than the Alva Body Lotion from MyPure that I tried a few months ago.

This moisturiser costs £11.99 and I would definitely pay that as it really is one of the best moisturisers I’ve ever used.  Also, MyPure have a deal on at the moment where you get a free Lavender Hand Cream when you buy the moisturiser.  Remember as well that A’kin only use natural ingredients so their products are brilliant for your skin with no nasty chemicals!

Indulgence Candle

I really love the Indulgence Candle by Aromatherapy Associates.  It comes in a neat and tidy gold box without loads of plastic wrapping and the candle itself is inside a frosted glass holder.

The candle smells of jasmine and geranium which is a perfect combination and is not overpowering like some scented candles can be.  I’ve read in the past that cheap scented candles are made using paraffin waxes which give off toxins, acetone, soot and lead.  They also give off carcinogenic toxins which, over a long period of time, can cause cancer.  The Indulgence Candle however is made from 100% naturally derived wax making in much safer but also much more expensive at £24.  I wouldn’t normally pay this much for a candle but I really love this one so much I think I would make an exception!  It is also a brilliant gift for Christmas or any other occasion.

The candle has approximately 30 hours of burning time (I haven’t actually burnt it for that long yet so can’t say whether this is true or not!).  You can buy the candle either online or from hotel spas across the country, Liberty of London and Fortnum & Mason.

A’kin Lavender, Geranium & Jojoba Hand, Nail & Cuticle Creme

The first MyPure product I am reviewing this month is the A’kin Lavender, Geranium & Jojoba Hand, Nail & Cuticle Creme.  This is my 3rd A’kin product and it is just as good as the previous two!

I really like the packaging – it is a bit old fashioned but looks quite expensive and different.  It tells you everything you need to know, for example that it is for all skin types, it is paraben and sulphate free and it contains vitamins and shea butter.  You can see from the photo that the lid is at the bottom of the tube so it will always be easy to get the hand cream out without having to squeeze the tube forever when it gets emptier!

I’m always using hand cream and this is becoming one of my favourites.  It smells natural and fresh and is a nice consistency so that it absorbs quickly and doesn’t leave your hands feeling greasy.  Although it absorbs quickly, it isn’t that fast that you don’t have time to properly massage it into your hands and cuticles – it just isn’t a hand cream that takes 10 minutes to sink in!  It is quite thick so you don’t need to use much to moisturise your hands and it keeps them feeling soft for hours.

The A’kin hand cream costs £7.99 and I would say that it is totally worth it!
