Summer Essentials: Body Scrubs

Body scrubs are essential for smooth summer skin. Here are a couple I’ve been using recently, one which is an everyday sort of price and another more expensive.

Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Body Scrub costs just £4.99 for 200g. It smells very chocolatey in the tub but a little synthetic once you start lathering it. It has a nice creamy texture and contains cocoa butter, shea butter and vitamin E to moisturise while exfoliating. The smell doesn’t linger on your skin for long so is good if you want to use a scented body lotion or perfume.

Pure Lochside Organic Sugar Body Scrub is more expensive at £23 for 200g. It smells totally amazing and feels much more luxurious. Even the tub, made of thick glass, feels expensive. This scrub contains macadamia, sweet almond, organic essential oils and virgin coconut oils with no parabens or other nasty chemicals. I really love this scrub as it leaves my skin feeling moisturised and also lightly scented. As it’s a sugar scrub, it doesn’t leave little gritty bits behind which are a pain to clean!

Has anyone used either of these? If you have any other scrubs which you’d recommend then let me know in the comments!

Jergens Naturals

I’ve recently started using the Cocoa Butter Moisturiser by Jergens Naturals and it is brilliant.  It is made using 96% natural ingredients and is not tested on animals.  It smells gorgeous and absorbs quickly leaving my skin feeling silky smooth.  I’ve tried other cocoa butter moisturisers but they usually take forever to sink in or are too sticky and thick but Jergens have found the perfect consistency so that you can apply the moisturiser quickly in the morning without waiting around for it to dry yet it still manages to make skin soft after just a few applications.  I am also going to try the new Total Nourishment Body Moisturiser with Acai Berry which should hopefully be just as good and an extraordinary 97% of the ingredients are natural.
